    Velocity in pipe for gas fluid

    Dear all*

    I would like to know that design or standard value of velocity in pipe when we sizing the piping* and how to make sure the velocity (calculated) is reasonable for engineering spec. or not. Please comment! Thank you very much.

    Sonic Velocity Vs Design Limit
    Vs=223*SQRT(K*T/Mw)
    K=Cp/Cv
    T abso.Temp.
    Mw: Mwt
    Vs=ft/sec
    please check of pressure drop must be below 40% of P1 (upstream pressure)
    For contiuous Service Gas Velocity=0.5 * Vs
    For intermittent service =0.75*Vs
